On behalf of the Restigouche County Sport & Gun Club Association Inc.  Aidan Burns is presenting a donation of 300$ to the Ronald McDonald House in Halifax Nova Scotia.  Aidan, a four year old resident of Campbellton, was diagnosed with Leukemia on September 7th of 2007 and has been receiving treatment at the IWK Halifax ever since.   The Ronald McDonald House helps seriously ill children and their families by providing them a home away from home.  The monies were raised in honour of Aidan during the club’s annual Summer Slam, a level 3 International Pistol Shooting Competition event

MARCH 20 , 2010
Government measures that may affect some firearms owners

The Government has extended three measures to encourage compliance among firearms owners for one year. The measures are:

  • Extending a fee waiver for firearms licence renewals or upgrades
  • Extending an amnesty which allows individuals with expired licences or in possession of unregistered non-restricted firearms to take steps to bring themselves into compliance
  • Allowing eligible holders of expired Possession-Only Licences (POL) to apply for a new POL

These three measures will be in effect until May 16, 2011.
